Problem / objective

Lead a student team in developing a functional differential and coil-spring suspension model from concept through assembled design.

Design process

  • Defined the mechanical architecture and divided design responsibilities across the team.
  • Modeled the differential and suspension assembly in SolidWorks CAD.
  • Iterated the design around available vendor components to ensure fit and functionality.

Technical decisions

  • Balanced custom geometry with off-the-shelf components to keep the assembly practical and buildable.
